We Celebrate 26th November as A National Law Day -Indian Constitution Day
National Law Day is also known as Constitution Day. The Constitution was adopted by the Constitutional Committee of India on 26th November 1949 and came into force on 26 January 1950. In honor of this day, every year we celebrate 26th November as Indian Constitution Day and we celebrate 26th January as Republic Day with great enthusiasm.

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar is said to be the architect of the Indian Constitution. Under his chairmanship, the Constitution Drafting Committee was set up on 28 August 1947. After nearly 2 years of untiring efforts, the draft constitution was presented to the Legislative Assembly on November 26, 1949.
Two months later the Indian Constitution was passed and we became a republic. The Constitution of India is the largest constitution in the world. The Constitution of India is a manuscript, with 1 Hindi and 1 English version containing 48 articles. It took 2 years 11 months and 17 days to prepare the constitution.
Event on 26th November
In the past, we used to celebrate November 26 as ‘National Law Day’. As per the announcement of the government on19th November 2015, we started celebrating this day as Indian Constitution Day.
In 2015, It was decided to celebrate Constitution Day on a grand scale in honor of the 125th birth anniversary of ‘Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’. The announcement was made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi while inaugurating Dr. Ambedkar’s Museum in Mumbai.
Various events are organized all over India on the occasion of Constitution Day. Essay, oratory / speech, painting competitions are organized in schools, colleges. This day is not a national holiday, Constitution related events are organized in schools, government offices. Lectures, quiz competitions are organized. Mock parliament debates are held in colleges and universities as per the instructions of the government.
On November 26, 2015, A special session was held in Parliament to commemorate Babasaheb Ambedkar and the Constitution.
Today’s generation must study the Constitution. We need to know our rights and responsibilities and try to act accordingly. Today I can write this article, you can express your opinion, this right is given by our constitution, we should respect and study it.
